Social Connections Made Easy — Improving Social Thinking through a Motivating Multimedia Curriculum
The award-winning Social Skill Builder curriculum uses multimedia including videos, comics, commercials and apps to engage and teach your elementary, middle or high school student critical awareness of social thinking.
Sessions focus on the following:
- Initiating conversation with friends
- Interpreting social cues and emotions
- Learning how to make smart social guesses
Meets weekly on Mondays for 8 weeks beginning on April 17, 2017. Elementary students will meet from 5-6pm. Middle and high school students will meet from 6:30-7:30pm. The cost is $360.
Laurie Jacobs, MA CCC-LP, is co-founder of Social Skill Builder, a company which provides computer-based tools for teaching social skills to children. Laurie is also owner of Community Speech Language Services, an independent speech pathology practice that treats pediatric and adolescent language disorders including Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and Down Syndrome.
