Melanie works with children, teens, and adults. Focusing on an integrative and holistic approach, she strives to help individuals and families through challenging phases of life to create positive change. Through a personal experience with an autoimmune disease, Melanie has learned the importance of looking at the whole self to reach long-term well-being. Her goal is to make the counseling environment safe and supportive, to educate about alternative treatment options, and to provide the individual/family with the necessary tools to make better life choices and achieve their desired potential.
Melanie uses a integrative approach and pulls from several other treatment modalities including cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and family systems. Her areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, emotional and physical abuse, chronic pain, stress management, conflict resolution, school-related difficulties, and general phase of life issues.
Melanie was born and raised in Northern Virginia so this is truly home for her. She loves taking nature walks, spending time with her husband and two kids, traveling, and living a healthy lifestyle.
